In a similar fashion to the many gastro-pubs that have been springing in cities all over Australia, The Royal Hotel has its very own fine dining-style eatery. However, despite the formal room with its rich cream-coloured walls, dark timber furnishings and impressive park views from the balcony, this restaurant hasn't forgotten its roots as a pub eatery. The menu focuses on seafood and chargrilled steaks, and includes the ubiquitous T-bones and surf and turf plates that we all know and love. However, chef Andrew Eckermann also plays around with some more unusual dishes such as a marinated kangaroo fillet with bush tomato, native pepper and aniseed myrtle. The friendly atmosphere and pub favourites take off the edge of unnecessary formality, leaving diners with a comfortable and quality eating experience.

Great Dinner
Dropped into The Royal for dinner with my wife , my daughter and myself.Renovations were happening so the dining room was very limited but cosy.I ordered salt & pepper squid, my wife -chicken schnitzel with mushroom sauce and my daughter - kids chicken schnitzel. Both chicken schnitzels were moist and well cooked. The mushroom sauce was beautiful. The salt & pepper squid was tender with a crunchy coating, beautiful! The meals were all under $20.00. The service was friendly and fast. Will be going there again.
