This corner pub is the ultimate home away from home for many a Fitzroy local, a place where everyone might not know your name, but is as comfortable as your own lounge anyway. Shunning pretentious posh fittings and gastro-pub cuisine, The Rose offers a range of hearty pub grub in a comfortably modest setting. From a generous scotch fillet to the stalwart chicken parmigiana, the meals are priced to suit even the meanest budget, with nothing stretching beyond $13.

We have been trying different pub grub. So far The Rose Hotel is in the lead. The meals are well priced & good quality. With 2 sizes on the mains. Only complaint I had to ask for gravy with my mixed grill.
