Don't let the organic, largely gluten-free menu fool you, dear meat-lovers. The Ridge Organic Restaurant can serve up one mean steak. Situated among the quiet bustle of local shops and businesses, it is friendly and unassuming, with warm table service and decor to match. The brightly coloured interior is set off by the restaurant's subtle mood lighting and the string of homely yet skillfully shot photographs hanging along the walls. While the head chef, Peter Wiget, specialises in meals for vegetarians and vegans, he doesn't leave the old carnivores out of the picture. In fact, the teriyaki steak with tempura oysters is an Asian sensation and the signature crispy, spiced duck breast is one for those who love their meat with bite. To add to its goal of good, homely service, portions are also generous with satisfying mains starting at $18. Boasting organic-only produce, it's one of the few places you can dine guilt-free - without losing the flavour, of course.

An Amazing Meal!
We had dinner here on a recent girls weekend in Canberra, well worth the effort of driving 'out' to Farrer. An imaginative menu and an amazing meal followed by one of the best desserts any of us has had in a long time. The service was wonderful and no one turned a hair at our request for three spoons to share the dessert. Make the effort and try the Ridge you will not be disappointed.

If you want the best meal in the ACT...go here!
The Ridge is such an amazing restaurant that I created a yourRestaurants account with the sole purpose of writing a review for it. Four of us went to dinner and all four of us could not stop raving about the food, the service was fantastic, thank you to the waitress who put up with us using paper scissors rock to decide whether we'd open another bottle of wine. Portion sizes were perfect, the fish I had was amazingly fresh (rare for Canberra)and the desert was divine. 10 out of 10 on all fronts!
