A Surry Hills institution, The Prophet proffers authentic Lebanese cuisine available in singular portions or in banquets (mezzes). Pick a mezze, and you get everything from hummus to chicken skewers to baklava vying for your attention; if a little bit of this and that isn't your thing, salads, felafels and other options should hit the spot. The dimly-lit intimate setting is replicated on two levels as well as a balcony area, establishing an exotic environment in which to sample the Middle Eastern morsels. While located on the busy thoroughfare of Cleveland Street, The Prophet feels cloistered away in its own world.

Banquet
Had the banquet here with belly dancing upstairs and it was very entertaining. The hommus and baba ghanoush with Lebanese bread was nice. Very meaty-type dishes are served in the banquet. Service was efficient with each course served one after another. Very ambient atmosphere as the lighting is very dim in this restaurant.
