As the brainchild of duo Alex Andersen and Kate Holloway (former faces at St Ali, Seven Seeds and Brother Baba Budan) the pedigree of Kensington's newest cafe is undeniable, and it shows.
The pair has turned an empty retail space on a leafy Bellair Street corner into a unique and engaging cafe space. The Premises boasts not one but two street fronts (Bellair and Macauley Road) and a fascinating V-shaped interior, filled with rustic reclaimed mountain ash tables made by Alex and his father.
Once you look past the design aspects, the Premises offers coffee and nosh with true substance. Seven Seeds House Espresso is the blend of choice, supplemented by rotating single origin specials. The food is simple but made with care and quality ingredients. The short and punchy menu is made up of mostly cafe staples with Mediterranean and Middle Eastern influences.
