There is never Fleurieu Peninsula frost crushing diners' spirits at this orchard, where a staunch emphasis on regional cuisine and a delightful garden setting combine with pleasing results; there's also a pared-back indoor dining area with polished timber floors and stark white walls, offering patrons respite from the midday sun.
The menu is truly diverse with offerings such as locally-caught school prawns, a colourful Cyprus lamb salad dotted with a range of fresh ingredients such as tomatoes, olives, fetta and pistachios, and for those in need of something big and beefy, a rib-eye steak with mash potato.

The Orchard, Aldinga
Great food in a relaxed family friendly atmosphere. Children are welcome to play in the garden. The woodfired pizza has a lovely fresh thin base and is topped with high quality ultra fresh toppings. It is a little pricey at $25 average for a 12 inch pizza but worth it for the quality. Good wine list. Friendly staff and host. A quirky rustic venue with a great feel to it and fresh good quality food.

wow! what a great place in unexpected spot, worth a big detour
we were looking to avoid the rain and be fed and kept warm and dry... found this whilst visiting wineries recommended by local wine cellar door folk..great postcard flyer...headed for aldinga and had coffee in the cafe part..sharp space friendly folk great coffee and vibe..... saw pizza menu ..kids grumpy enquired about food ..informed to eat pizza go to old barn at rear..another place another vibe..retro earthy humming place with fire and young folk cookin...order kids and us some pizza a drink ( good local and exotic beer and vino) then check out wood oven..yum yum fantastic pizzas!!! We had spicy chicken, lamb one and a margarita, and supreme for kids, Thump up all round. Great thin base good fresh flavours on top in a space of old stone and fire...almost medieval with funky music and atmosphere. Pouring down rain but we were loving being inside...gotta go back with friends for another look and more wine and pizza ....

Swerve and give this one a miss
What a great concept and setting. But there was no service - where is the menu, do we order and pay, do we sit down and have staff take our order. We (there were 6 of us)ordered pizza and waited and waited and waited. The wine list was appalling, particularly when the cafe is located next door to an internationally renowned wine region of McLaren Vale, - and the corkage was $15, far too steep for a very casual backyard pizza place. Wine glasses consisted of XL5 or water tumblers - both totally inadequate considering the corkage. When the pizza arrived the wafer thin bases were soggy dough smothered in ash and the toppings were slim - but the price was generous at $25 a pizza. We were very disappointed - we had driven up from Adelaide.

Great brekkie
Visited today for the first time and had a delicious brekkie. The coffee was good, plate of bacon and eggs was beautifully presented and the friendly waitress was quick with water for the table and sea salt and pepper. It was a drizzly day but the heater was cranked up on the patio, which had plastic blinds around it. The selection of sweets was tantalising, but we were too full. Will definitely go back another day for lunch to try more of the menu.

Another great restaurant down South
We arrived at the restaurant and were seated outside by the pizza oven. One of the people we were dining with wanted to be seated inside so he went and asked if we could move. Within a minute a new table was set and we moved inside. The service was fantastic as was the pizza. The only fault that I could have would be the selection of wines. I will definitely recommend it.

Best Brekkie Spot in the South -Great Coffee
What a find - great bush brekkie, fresh coffee, my wife said best tea around, served in a teapot. Paper supplied to read, taking in the beautiful views under the big tree. Staff were friendly and knowlegeable of local area and tourist attractions. Will return when next in the area - a must for anyone visiting south of adelaide.

Could not fault it with a completely satisfying night
We had not been before but had heard great things especially the food and the setting. We were shown to our reserved table by friendly smiling waiter. Menu was explained as to specials. Ordered drinks from counter as we wanted to check out wines some we had not heard of. Glass of local wine Coriole nebbiolo and a lowenbrau we mooched to the garden and were knocked out by the beauty, stunning!! Smokers are discouraged which meant we had to sit in garden and take in the view. Food was generous, a platter was shared, ...awesome fresh and interesting. Followed by chicken paysanne and a rib eye.. too big for me but my partner said it was the best steak he'd had in ages and my chook was superb with all its juices and simple yummy flavours.. My only criticism was it was a bit cool outside so we hope that in winter some added heating would be installed. Desserts were on display as cakes and pastries looked great but for another day.. we reckon its the best thing to have hit Aldinga in years. Tip top place...pizza part looks great, as we left it was still pumping with music and people.

Much potential but disappointing - saved by the location
The meals are large and generous and the location is rustic with beautiful large trees and a nice view of the Hills. No introduction as to how the restaurant took orders. Had to approach the counter after 45 minutes to find out that orders can or are taken at the table. Wine List incorrect. Lower price on incorrect Menu not honoured. No apology made for this at all. No bad attitude regarding this , but no attitude at all. Chorizo Salads doused in Rock Salt, as if it needed it. Lamb Zatar tough. Several serves were served of both at the table and both had the same problem. Half of my meal was taken away whilst I was not at my table to ok it. Can't remember seeing any waiter approach the table of 20 in a thorough fashion to take drink orders or to ask how things were until we'd been there for 3.5 hours.
