As if it's not enough to have rolling, green vineyards and a glassy fish pond at its doorstep, this cafe on the Woody Nook winery sits in a real woody nook: a quaint timber cottage surrounded by acres of lush forest. Just north of the Margaret River town centre, the Nookery Cafe in Wilyabrup provides a largely alfresco sanctuary for anyone willing to explore the gourmet cuisine of the local region (as well as the cellar door's prime wines).
Culinary highlights include smoked salmon and crab salad with chiffonnade of lettuce, oven-baked sweet potato filled with vegies and the braised lamb and Woody Nook shiraz pie (it's not just your average meat and wine pie, that's for sure).
