Moving on from its days as the Rob Roy Hotel, this local Fitzroy corner pub has found new glory as The Workers Club, helmed by Jerome of St Jerome's, and refitted with funky furniture and recycled materials. Despite these superficial changes, this venue is still a hub for some of Melbourne's most eclectic live music acts. Before checking out a new or established muso doing their thing, you can tuck into good pub grub like a grilled pork chop with fennel and rocket, homemade gnocchi, or oven-baked fish of the day - all the while with a beer in hand.

Well Worth a Look
This pub has had a nice cash injection to clean it up and gives you a choice of rooms to relax in. Haven't seen any music yet but will be back to investigate further. Meals were very good and a side salad of beetroot & carrot was delicious. Tuesday night was quiet but not deserted and candles were a welcome touch. Also good wines by the glass allows you try a couple of newbies.
