The Meat & Wine Co., Darling Harbour

Would it be fair to say you'd be missing the point if you came to the Meat & Wine Company to try the salads? Australian Angus beef cuts are the house specialty, with super-aged meat the order of the day. Start off with the beef carpaccio or boerewors (South African sausage) and carry on with a T-bone or petite fillet. If you must know, they do also serve a few vegetarian dishes.

Terrible service, we were moved tables twice. Drinks took an age to arrive and then were wrong. The food ended up arriving before the drinks.
For the price the food was very average, the sort of food you could cook at home yourself.

food glorious food
The only downfall is that is gets very full and very noisy so if a dinner is for 2 if what you are after you will get seated in a not so nice squished place.
Having said that . . . FANTASTIC FOOD, GREAT WAITERS JUST WORTH EVERY CENT you spend in there AND THEN SOME
Fabulous choices of food and if you do not fancy what is on the menu (ie the planned combination of the meat and sides) they will work around it and make you what you need and want without asking you to order things you do not want and them pay for sides.
I mean you get what you ask for and everything is cooked to perfection = from the entrees to deserts. We even got given free drinks when a tiny fly took a dive in my hubby s beer even though there was only 1 sip left on the glass.
We did not ask for it only told them to take the glass away as he was done with it anyway, and to our surprise got another one + told all drinks would be free because of that . . .
But again, the taste of the food fabulous fantastic, melts in your mouth leaving you wanting more even though portions are so large you could not eat another bite
For great food and good service GO THERE

Outstanding service
Had dinner there with all my work colleagues and the food and service was outstanding. The young lady who looked after us all night gave us the best service and she looks like she is a great asset to the restaurant.

I have been there twice for dinner, the first time was alright. But the second time wasn't so great at all. The steaks was dry, overcooked and burned on the outside and they also charge extra if you dine on the weekend.
But atmosphere was better than their steaks, with both indoor and outdoor seats available.
