Beer and pizza are a way of life at The Local Taphouse, but it's not just any ordinary beer or pizza this place dishes up. In fact, this boutique beer bar-cum-modern gastro pub brims with classic elegance akin to that of a rustic English manor, filled with antique furniture and quirky curios. And yet, it still maintains a modern style connected to its trendy clientele from Darlo and its surrounds. With 20 taps of beer, The Local Taphouse certainly earns its name, especially when you take a peek at the menu, which pairs up particular international and local beers to go with the mod-Oz pub food. As mentioned earlier, pizza is a prominent player on the menu, alongside other shareable mezze, charcuterie and antipasto bites. For a heartier feed, you can always tuck into a steak, salad, fish or burger, always keeping one hand free to hold a beer.

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!
I went here on a Saturday night with 7 of my girlfriends and was sooo impressed. The food was amazing, leaving us to have to order more than we initially thought we'd eat. The service was also great and very friendly. I can't wait to go back! yummmm

a melbourne pub in sydney
The Local's a very welcome addition to the Sydney scene, and it's great to see someone finally make a real go of this site after it's been lying dormant and lifeless for the past few years. While the beer menu is the main attraction here, the grub itself is also pretty good, and it's a fun, cosy dining room that's perfect for some convivial comfort food in the winter months.
