Don't be deceived by the name: this is nothing like a school science lab. In fact, this multi-award-winning Brisbane gem's minimalist decor is offset by a huge oak bar, inviting diners and drinkers into a bright and open space that's casual and classy, elegant and unpretentious. In a building that's more than 100 years old, The Lab offers equally decadent East/West fusion meals such as the pan-fried herb dumplings with seasonal vegetables, snow pea leaf and vegetable nage; the medley of seafood with broccolini, peas, scallop and chervil emulsion; and Belgian chocolate fondant, hazelnut cream and milk sorbet. It all goes down swimmingly with some delicious drops from the vast cellar.
Gourmet Travller 2009 Australian Restaurant Guide - "Despite its seemingly scientific name you're unlikely to find dusts, soils or gel anything here, just cleverly sourced produce in seasonally led dishes. "
