Went there once and it was too many times
They like to do their degustation menu so almost forced to try it. Not one dish did I find to be extrodinary. The whole experience was a bore. Overpriced, bad service if they know you are there and the food. Enough said I think you get the point. There is too much good competition in Adelaide to put up with this.

Fantastic, imaginative food - just too much of it!
So, there we were, last night of an eight-day holiday in SA, six nights of which had been spent on Kangaroo Island so we'd been eating very well. The only reason we stayed a night in Adelaide was to eat at The Grange and we weren't disappointed, except for the space, which is Hilton bland. Now, I've had many a degustation (the only option on a Sat night) and thought that I could do 8 courses and matching wines without effort but the size of each course was such that I struggled and my partner gave up after 6 courses. But that is the only complaint from one of the most satisfying meals I've ever had. The Sea Dance first course of four tasting pieces was outstanding & Tetsuya's-like in its execution and flavours. After that we moved through lobster, quail, duck, risotto, snapper and one of my favourites, salt bush hogget. All this was very well matched with generous glasses of wine that were brilliantly described and poured by attentive and knowledgeable staff. Service overall was very good, expecting they all went missing at the end of the night - a pet hate of mine as we left without a goodbye.
The Grange shines and offers a really exhilarating dining experience - it was just too much food! It's really about 14 courses as the first two contain lots of tastes. I think Cheong should make them a little smaller and all would be well.
