Based on pedigree alone, Norwood's latest gastro-pub-cum-fine-diner is a thoroughbred champion just waiting to find its feet.
Owned by gurus Matthew and Olivia Trim (those of the Manse and Sparrow notoriety) and with a menu overseen by executive chef Lachlan Colwill (also of North Adelaide's dining darling the Manse), the Grace's success was almost guaranteed before it even opened. However, just to put it beyond doubt the Trims have given the site of the old Manny's Fish Cafe a sleek makeover, complete with a bright, modern dining room and retro-chic fittings.
On the food side of things, Colwill's menu is a relatively simple affair that focuses on high quality cuts of portion controlled meat and seasonal fish. Expect to see budget-blowing marbled wagyu steaks given as much airplay as South Australian pink snapper and garfish.
To finished, a short, sharp sweets menu is topped by a tasty morsel of salted caramel, peanut and nougat chocolate bar - a dessert vaguely reminiscent of Philippa Sibley's re-imagined Snickers dessert that flashed in the MasterChef pan a while back.
