One of the trendiest bars of Leederville, the Garden at the Leederville Hotel is something of a boutique beer garden for those who appreciate sharing laughter over superior liquids (the beer range is huge - grab a Hoegaarden or Little Creatures). Of equal importance are the bar bites, a generous tapas and share plate selection that shows an equal devotion to the communal gustatory experience. From the deli there's pork rillettes and marinated octopus, while the pizza goodies include a lamb, fetta, roquette and allspice pizza, and an interesting tagine-spiced duck with minted yoghurt option. Last but not least are the massive share plates, which include a charcuterie plate, spiced kangaroo, crispy skin pork belly, and smoked Petuna ocean trout. Not bad for bar food, hey?

expectations of something better....?
Four girlfriends and I popped into this gorgeous looking bar/restaurant yesterday in the late afternoon after a movie. The wine list was great and the surroundings and atmosphere were modern and inviting.
We were enjoying ourselves after a few drinks, so we ordered a serving of chips before we headed home. The chips were very disappointing. Over cooked, soggy and consisted of all the little bits that are usually left over after the larger ones have been served. In other words the "bottom of the barrel". Anyhow we complained to the waiter who walked away before we finished speaking.... because we were hungry we ate them and left . I know its only $9.00, and just a bar snack...but previously we had been thinking of coming back as a group for dinner. We won't now.
