A long-time staple of the St Kilda cafe scene, the Fringe Cafe is a chilled-out bohemian hangout that's best known for its all-day breakfasts (let's call them hangover cures). From basil pesto scrambled eggs to blueberry pancakes to croissants and beyond, Fringe does plenty of brekkie fare designed to refuel your system. Covered with posters inside and sunshine outside, Fringe is indeed a laidback spot to call your own.

Difficult to fault for a relaxing and fun dining experience
Had a really enjoyable time at Fringe dining on a Wednesday night. The ambiance, accompanied with friendly staff made the experience quite enjoyable and relaxing. The quality of food was incredible, especially considering how inexpensive the menu is. My partner had the proscuitto wrapped chicken breast and I had the housemade gnochhi with lamb... Perfectly cooked. Wonderful taste
Definitely recommended it friends and will be back.

Understaffed and overrated
Sure, this place has funky decor and a laidback feel, however with a busy morning crowd the staff could not handle basic orders or requests... let alone hand us a menu when we arrived. The food was ok (it sounded better on the menu) and the iced coffee was terrible.

Excellent Brekkie
I can understand why this place is so popular on weekends. I ate the baked eggs, which was delicious, whilst my partner, who is vegan, ate the stir-fry tofu. It was a pleasant experience, enjoying a lovely breakfast in a relaxing environment, complemented by good service and quality coffee (with free biscotti on the side...mmmm). A must see!

Great place to eat and drink
Went to Fringe on Friday evening, on the recommendation of a friend, and I have to say it was a wonderful place to dine and drink, especially if you are on a budget. Food was excellent, with service to match. I highly recommend it to everyone.
