With the aim of providing Lorne with a much-needed family-friendly, affordable but up-market and sophisticated modern Australian restaurant, the Flowers popped up and bloomed (sorry, requisite name pun) in early 2011. Judging by the warm welcome it's received from locals and visitors to the area, it's a fairly safe bet this place has hit the spot nicely, and won a few hearts in the process. Its menu of Asian-influenced mod Oz is constantly changing, but the concept seems to have hit the nail on the head and doesn't need too much adjusting - a good quality eatery serving modern meals with a focus on fresh local produce was just what the doctor ordered. Oh, and the local wine list is a ripper, too.
