A part of the Country Comfort Inter City Perth complex, the Firehouse got its name from the venue's previous occupants - the West Australian Fire Service training centre. No longer putting out flames, the kitchen here is very much under control, creating tempting modern Australian treats such as crumbed field mushrooms filled with feta cheese, roast capsicum, pine nuts and spinach on a creamy polenta, mixed greens and garlic aioli. Or there are more meaty options such as the braised lamb shanks slow-cooked in apple cider served on parmesan potato mash with rocket balsamic salad.
