The pet project of three friends, this "blue plate special"-style diner exudes an unpretentious charm that can only be achieved when the venue is a true labour of love.
Like most places that instantly charm their way into your heart it's the intangibles at Eathouse that make it truly great. From the '50s greaser cafe paint job to the cheeky sign out front saying simply "eat here", everything about the decor is welcoming and fun. As far as the food goes the premise is simple: a few dishes on offer that are constantly changing. Expect to see anything from a beef cheek on cauliflower puree to a traditional rabbit pie.
It's almost serendipitous that Eathouse opened in Redfern. It's exactly what this suburb needs, only no-one knew until it was already here. And as for the cheeky signage, we can only suggest you heed its advice as quickly as possible.
