Dreadful food
This was once an amazing restaurant.Took a group for a birthday and all left dissapointed. The food once was different to others around but has slipped big time. Flavourless and bland was the concensus. The head waiter insisted the food was wonderful, it was a shame we were eating and paying for it and not him them, the staff though are wonderful and helpful

East Empress always impressive!!
Having been here many a time and gotten to know the staff quite well i can truly say this is a great Chinese restaurant that ups the ante to other restaurants in the area. The food is simply superb and the wine list is fantastic, something we dont see in the South Eastern suburbs. All staff should take a bow as the service is terrific, warm and friendly. This is everything you want in a Chinese restaurant and to be in Glen Waverely means you dont have to travel to the city to experience great Chinese.

Pre-Chinese New Year
Went as a member of party of 10 to what was sold to us as a Chinese New Year's Eve dinner, the next evening, the actual Chinese New Year's Eve having been booked out.
The food was a disgrace, consisting of a starter course of two prawns on a plate, well and truly at room temperature, followed by other courses each of which comprised a rice bowl filled almost to the top with rice and a thin layer of a mundane dish over the top of the rice.
Portions were small and the cost at $66 a head was exorbitant.
