Restaurant Information
The Grill
The word 'grill' doesn't really conjure up images of elegance and fine dining. However, rather than the charred T-bones implied by the name, this eatery serves a series of beautifully presented modern Australian dishes. The decor is similarly more appropriate to a hotel restaurant (which it is), than a pub diner. Think high, sculpted ceilings, chic European styling and full-length French doors overlooking the terrace. At breakfast you can choose either buffet or a la carte, and lunches include the option of their special two and three-course deals. Renowned for their classy high teas, the Duxton is also a pleasant afternoon meeting spot, becoming a tranquil and ambient respite. In the evening, the menu is even more extensive, so take your time pondering your options from a seasonally sourced menu ranging from steaks to pastas to seafood specials. Afterwards, a visit to the Lobby Bar may be in order if you love a good drop while sinking into a luxurious lounge.

6 June 2009, 9.20pm
indulgent breakfast buffet
My partner and i went to the grill for breakfast one morning. It was the most amazing buffet breakfast i have ever seen. The gentleman that greeted us as we arrived was very polite. There was a large array of foods anything from plum compote to a specially made omelette, all the food was of the highest quality and everything in sight had to be on my plate.First we tried the yoghurt and fruit selection which had the freeshest fruit and anything from fresh pawpaw to dried dates which were very yummy. The plum compote was very nice and went well with the delicious yogurt.
Next was the selection of breads and pastries, there was a sourdough, white and rye bread, croissants, crumpets, danishes and savoury muffins. There was a chef who would prepare an omelette for you with whatever you would like in it which was impressive. The other hot food included bacon, scrambled eggs, sauteed potatoes, grilled champinions, grilled tomatoes, fried rice, veal sausages, pork sausages and much more.
Overall i would rate this restaurant a 9/10.Will definetely be going back there. :)
