Set amid the flashing lights and joyous shrieks of Luna Park, The Deck provides an unexpectedly glamorous counterpoint to the fairground's neon-lit kitsch. Designed by Idiom Design Practice, the space is stylishly decorated in timber and neutral tones, with plenty of colour and aesthetic drama coming from the view - a postcard picture of Sydney Harbour and the Harbour Bridge.
Chef Michael Roper has designed a flexible Mediterranean menu that's packed with gourmet nibbles and platters for snacking on the fly, as well as main courses for serious dining. Drop in for a charcuterie plate (duck liver pate, rabbit rillettes, sliced prosciutto and crusty bread) and maybe some oysters in a nod to the seaside location; or sit down to a full meal - perhaps a Moroccan bread salad with olives and roasted green capsicum, followed by the kitchen's signature paella.
