The Deck Cafe

The Deck Cafe at The Gap Tavern is a pub bistro you can happily take the kids to. The Deck's deck extends onto a big lawn with an adventure playground so the rugrats can run riot while you sit back and relax. The timber deck continues inside through large folding doors, and the whole place is light, bright and casual. Foodwise, The Deck offers the usual array of cafe favourites including pizza, pasta, steaks and salads at very reasonable, family-friendly prices.

Wagyu rump
My brother took me to The Gap Tavern in early February this year to try their wagyu rump, it was amazing.

Since then i have been back several times to indulge in the great taste. Its been a couple of months since we have been there so we decided to go again, only of course for the Wagyu rump...

After paying $62 and waiting with excitment the waiter comes to our table and plonks in front of us our meals. Sounds all good nope one problem it wasnt the same. The meat we got given looked like your standard Woolworths rump steak.

So I ask to make sure that there hasn't been a mix up in the kitchen. The bar staff at first also thought it was plain old run of the mill rump steak so had to double check with the chef. But he assured him that it was.

So I sit back down and decide to try the low quality wagyu that we had been given. First bite grisle, compared to the steak that made us come back to the restuarant, it was uneatable. Considering i had just paid $31 for it.
