The Cinnamon Club

Designed to lure Leederville's discerning cafe set, The Cinnamon Club has a more informal and relaxed ambience than its city-slicker sister Nine Mary's, but is more upmarket than its Subiaco-based sibling Chutney Mary's. Striking the perfect balance between the two, it has a loungey feel with high-backed brown leatherette banquettes and cosy beige suede booths. By night, the stone walls and sultry lighting give the expansive space a more intimate, romantic feel. The Cinnamon Club also boasts a selection of exclusive dishes, including the mixed vegetarian starters and tandoori tasting plates, as well as three fresh and flavoursome salads. Expect the same high standards of service and good range of wines Nine Mary's is known for.

Disappointing- wouldn't go again
We went in a group of 10 ppl to dinner. Place was around half full. Perhaps I am alittle biased rating Indian restaurants as I am always left with a sour taste knowing how much I've just paid for rice alone. Anyway, I ordered the butter chicken. For $21, i was not impressed. However, other ppl at the dinner appeared to enjoy their meals.

Service was not good especially given the prices we were paying for meals (~$20+ per main). They were not friendly or timely. There was 15mins between when the 1st and last main came out. However, they were very attentive with our water which earned them half a star. Ambience was ok.

Overall a disappointing experience. There are better Indian restaurants to go to.

Great food - but why the rush?
It is funny to read several reviews above where people have had to wait a long time for their meal. Our experience was the opposite!
We didn't have a booking, but we were at the early end of the night, so were given a table at the back of the restaurant. The place only had a couple of other customers.
We ordered pappadums and mains. No complaints about the food - everything was delicious.
Our main complaint was that we hadn't even finished our pappadums before the mains came trotting out. We were in and out of there in the blink of an eye. As we stood at the counter to pay the bill, they had a couple standing at our table waiting for it to be wiped down. They were promptly seated before we had even paid.

Average
The service ruined our whole experience. After asking the waitress how long our meals would be (had already waited an hour and there was only 3 of us) we were rudely told they were very busy and it would be ready as soon as possible. Dinner finished, we decided on desserts which took another 40 minutes. Never received an apology or complimentary anything.

Great food, good service but terrible wait
One of the best Indian restaurants food wise with pleasant service when we got it and appropriate prices for its quality. However, the wait for the meals was shocking where we waited almost an hour and a half. After speaking to a staff member about the hour wait, the manager must have mistakenly gone to another table who were also waiting (but had arrived after our table) to let them know their order will be next. Finally after our wait we received our meals (around 9pm). We made sure the manager knew and surely enough gave us a nice bottle of wine and removed entrees, corkage and rice from our bills which happily did compensate. Would go back but will just try and make sure there's no 'special function' on - which was the manager's excuse.

Mouthwatering
Go there often as I can and in my opinion this has to be the best Indian restaurant in Perth and believe me I have tried the lot. Some do not or should not rate as Indian cusine. It is as close you can come to eating back in India or the UK.

Very relaxed experience
It was lovely to dine at this place. After a long wait which we didn't mind cos there was a big group of us and we wanted some time to catch up anyway, the food was brought out. my friends samosas were cold but they were quickly heated up. My eggplant curry was so hot I could barely taste it and my friends that dont like heat couldnt eat their butter chicken cos it was too hot! I enjoyed myself mainly cos I was drinking red wine and it was a lovely ambient atmosphere!

Love the food, hate the wait
I really enjoyed our first Cinnamon Club visit. The food was the best Indian in Perth! All the sizes were small but add a naan and a drink and it is more than enough. Our only gripe was waiting an hour for our meal, but it was worth the wait - loved the goat! Cinnamon Club virgin no more!

Good Indian and a great atmosphere
This is very good Indian food in a really nice atmosphere. The tasting platters are fantastic and serve way more than two people. The food isn't that different to, say, Chutney Mary's, and the prices aren't cheap but it's a lovely atmosphere and good service - though we did have a bit of a wait at one point.

Disappointed
Well-presented restaurant, however, how disappointing was the food? Very. For the price, we expected a good Indian meal, but if I'm truthful, tasted very much like a Pataks sauce mix from the jar. I ordered the vindaloo, and it was dreadful. Meat was very well cooked, but the sauce was disgusting. Extremely overpriced restaurant, will not be going again and will not recommend.

Funky and Hip Restaurant
The atmosphere is definitely the highlight of this restaurant. Very funky and cool decor - they definitely spent a bit doing the place up. Decor seems more aimed at a younger crowd rather than older. The food is pretty nice, one of the better Indians I have tasted in Perth. The food is a little pricey but definitely worth paying the extra for the great atmosphere.

Indian food - try the goat!
Food was very nice, although with so much restaurant Indian food, you wonder how they can get away with such small dishes at THAT price. This delicious food was made better by being able to BYO wine. Dinner for two people at $67, no desserts, BYO wine is just a little too much. I will go back, though.

Excellent!!!
This is the best Indian restaurant here in Perth!!! Just love the paneer here. It's just the best food one can have. Amazing place to have a romantic dinner or just hang out with friends.
Love the Indian music too.

Although the food was lovely, the service was intrusive (standing over us at our table waiting for the bill to be paid; four people asking us about pre-dinner drinks). Also, the tandoori tasting platter was over-priced. I would be unlikely to go there again.
