There's something a little disconcerting about eating a meal in a room surrounded by enormous, super-sharp knives, but that's exactly the appeal of The Chef's Edge. This quirky eatery started out as a kitchenware shop but has since transformed into a cafe that sells pots, pans and other culinary odds and ends.
The menu here features an all-day breakfast and one of the widest ranges of kangaroo dishes in the area. Their seafood gumbo is a specialty - it is lighter than you'd normally find, and has a tomato base. Crowds flock to the Edge for trivia on Wednesday nights and live music on Thursdays and Fridays, so come early to nab a good table.
But if you see a diner pulling out knives at the front counter, don't be alarmed - they actually offer a knife-sharpening service.
