Historic pub venues have a pedigree and vintage that simply cannot be matched by newer designs. Historic pubs that seamlessly blend contemporary styles with original fixtures are like the Olympic drug cheats of hospitality - it's just unfair on the competition. The exterior of this mod-Oz pub bistro is a mid-19th century building - complete with original vine-covered walls - and the interior is a mix of original polished floorboards and embossed motif wallpaper.
The menu, keeping in line with the decor, is similarly substantive yet eclectic. Where else could you find a prime porterhouse beef steak turned into a schnitzel? It's kind of weird, but it works.
