The historic Briar's Inn is something of a Bowral institution, offering diners the sort of country-style meals they could expect served in an English pastoral setting - environs not too dissimilar to the lush green of the Southern Highlands of NSW.
There's a whole lot to like about this comfortable establishment, from the Guinness and Old Speckled Hen on tap to the sausages that are made on-site by the chef. There's also some more refined fair, such as the confit duck legs with braised red cabbage; or the roast venison rump with sauteed pears & pepper jus. Perhaps this establishment's crowning achievement is the communal grill on which many a patron can grill their selection of meat.
