The Basement is best known as one of Sydney's top music spots, hosting live bands every night of the week, including international and big-name Aussie acts. A secondary focus (but one gratefully received by starving music fans) is their bistro. Before the show starts, the kitchen serves up a modern Australian menu, which combines pub-style classics with a few internationally flavoured offerings. The restaurant also opens during the day, when city workers can drop in for a plate of pasta or a burger.
