'Dessert kitchen' is a popular buzz term. Plenty of these gems have been popping up, all proclaiming to have the goods to satisfy that late-night sugar craving or all-the-time sweet tooth. Few can hit the spot as bang-on as the Aviary, which, from its perch on the Parade, is drawing punters in for after-dinner treats like mad.
The menu is full of sweet, sweet goodness: the hazelnut macaron flowerpot is hard to beat, as is the salted caramel French macaron and the Eton mess. Drinks-wise, the saccharine offerings range from green tea matcha latte (a winner in the originality stakes) to the more traditional hot chocolate, tea and coffee choices. All this in a pretty, modern and refined Victorian-style setting complete with fake birds in cages and cosy nooks for date-nights - it's enough to sweeten any day.
