That Little Mexican Place

With a name that's easy to remember, and a cuisine that's known for its fun and flavour, this is a restaurant that's not to be missed. Providing authentic Mexican entrees, mains and desserts, this place chooses to avoid the ponchos and sombreros and instead serve their food in a simple, even classy environment. If you're a fan of feeling hot, hot, hot, then here you have the option of increasing your chilli count with selections of hot salsa served alongside your meal. Cool down with one of the many traditional Mexican-style beverages on offer.

Modern Mex for Dining Aficionados
Make sure you read the lastest reviews, not ones from 2009! This is real Mexican, not fast-food American style that we had back in the 1970's. So don't come expecting that. Neither is it supermarket Mexican-set in-a-box style. Also, make sure you share your dishes; don t have one each. After all the poor reviews I read I was so pleased with what we got. They have certainly lifted their game to a very high standard for a local neighbourhood cafe. For 4 of us we had 2 entrees (avocado dip and cheese dip); 5 main dishes (steak dish, cactus dish, shredded pork dish, stuffed jalapenos very hot, and half chicken with chocolate, and Mexican rice) - and this was heaps. We didn't quite finish and we were stuffed, for $40 per head. The service was very good (but I do like serving spoons when I m sharing). Beautiful presentation, tasty, interesting and a range of flavours. Even enough choice for friend who has FODMAP diet. Well done!

Great, if you're not hungry
The service was fantastic, and the ambiance was nice, but freezing cold because the doors and windows were open even though it was very chilly.

And the food was even very tasty- Only the tacos were reasonably small, and if you want them spicy, be prepared to spend an EXTRA TWO DOLLARS on top of your initial 25, because that's how much a tiny serve of jalapenos cost.

And if you're a vegetarian, I would suggest skipping the burrito. It had a nice flavour, but it was literally about 10 x 7 cm, and PACKED with Rice. For $25! Good thing I didn't want it spicy! Nothing other than some drizzled salsa to accompany it either. I was starving when I was done.

Makes you feel very cheated, especially when a great Mexican takeaway is just around a corner for less than half the price and at least twice the size.

Tasty and fun!
Yes, if food can be fun, TLMP has it figured out.

A very intimate restaurant, you need to book to avoid disappointment.

I cannot do the dishes justice by describing the wide array I've tried so far... but the fun for me definitely starts with the blue corn chips and chili con queso and the jalapenos rellenos. Mmmmmm - heat good!

Each time I've been we share dishes so we can all taste what's on offer. One night with 6 people we ordered 3 entrees and 3 mains and shared the lot, then had the churros for dessert. Plenty of food.

There is a large table you can book down the back of the venue, but main room is really small. So if you're bringing a pram or wheelchair, please mention it when you book.

Wheelchair access is flat throughout, however a big step to get inside. Large accessible toilet is good, and flat street parking in Raglan just a few metres south along Fitzgerald St.
