There's a strange phenomenon in the Sydney dining scene where all really successful Chinatown restaurants eventually migrate to the coast. After cutting their teeth in the dime-a-dozen Haymarket locale, the cream inevitably rises to the top and then pops off for a surf.
Joining such Asian heavyweights as Kam Fook and Chat Thai after opening the flagship restaurant last year, Thanon Khao San has brought their signature style of Thai cuisine to the eastern suburbs. Like it's CBD stablemate, the menu at TKS Bondi covers all the pillars of Thai cuisine you would expect (and hope) to see on a classic Thai menu, along with some signature dishes (stir-fried shiitake mushrooms and a pad nam bouy among them) to keep things exciting.
