Thanh Mai is a favourite among the groups of families and friends who congregate there night after night for an authentic Vietnamese meal prepared with skill and flair. The atmosphere and decor are simple and warm, and largely dominated by a bold display of plastic flowers that illuminate an entire wall. The menu is fantastically long, packed with classics such as rice paper rolls and silver perch drizzled with soy and sesame oil and interesting flavours and textures like that of the goi sua, a salad of jellyfish and raw vegetables. Drinks such as soda sua hot ga (egg in soda water) are a delight. A veritable feast that's great value for money.
