Sitting on the ground floor of a Harry Seidler designed apartment block, opposite the imposing Masonic Lodge, there is nothing fancy about Thainatown. They simply let the food speak for itself. Offering a delicious array of traditional Thai food, with condiments like pickled or dried chilli on the tables, Thainatown is always filled with Thai expats, a sure sign of its authenticity.

Great cheap soups
The boat noodle and duck noodle soups are fantastic. Pad Thai is pretty good here too, but beware getting the curry dishes at lunch - especially takeaway - as they tend to put way too much rice. You can order a full serve of curry and ask for the rice to be served separately (it will cost more).
