Thailicious

Set above Mitchell Street's bustling party district, this enormous open-air restaurant is a hit with locals and backpackers alike. The modern Thai dishes range from the signature exotic seafood curry to a fabulous tuk tuk chicken, and should be consumed with either a Singha or Chang beer, while lounging on one of the traditional floor cushions. The walls are littered with Thai-style carvings and fuschia and purple silk wall hangings, which sway in the tropical breezes coming in from the rooftop.

A good decent meal...
My wife and I wanted a good decent meal, on Mitchell street. So good pedestrian entertainment and good food.
Thailicious, right on the money. Attentive staff, eager to please, great atmosphere and a good view of the strip.
The back room area is quite traditional in styling, a bit of everything.
I highly recommend this one.

Relaxed Darwin style eating
Great location overlooking the passing parade of cars and people along Mitchell street eateries. Cold beers and refreshing vodka, green tea and lime juice cocktails to refresh the palate. Jungle curry and noodle dishes - loads of choices. Friendly and helpful staff to explain the menu and give advice - we overordered, but thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would recommend it to friends visiting Darwin in the future.

the thai food is excellent, but..
Eating at Thailicious is usually something to look forward to. The restaurant is an open aired affair up one flight of stairs onto a verandah type setting, most of which looks out over busy Mitchell St, the tourist hub of Darwin city centre. It is a great place to catch the evening breezes and watch the sunset in the clouds and the passing parade below, This week when 4 of us dined there, I was disappointed to find that even though we had booked and requested a certain table, we arrived on time to find other people sitting there. No apology, just a shrug, when I queried, answer was something like "..all the phone bookings go downstairs..they wouldn't know.." We were shown to a table looking onto the backpacker hostel wall next door. Although this was early and the restaurant was far from full, most tables were reserved. It was hard to catch the waiters eye all night. Food is excellent, wine list is comprehensive, waiters seem to be backpackers passing through. By the time we left the place was packed with locals and visitors.
