This Thai-Lao restaurant is very cheap, but serves up delicious meals. If anywhere will make you like offal, this is the place, but if you don't like the sound of that there's also gorgeous braised pork leg in mild soy and perfect coconut prawns.

BEST THAI FOOD IN AUSTRALIA
I have travelled to Thailand and also eaten Thai in most states and this is by far the best thai I've ever had. The staff are incredibly polite and the food is just fantastic. I HIGHLY recommend the following dishes: Larb Gai,Num Tog Beef salad, Som Tum.....these are dishes which I have travelled around tasting and Wi Rat do the best version....don't discard all other items as they are all FANTASTIC!!

I'm a Thai fan but will never return
Went to Thai Wi Rat last night and found the food to be crap. The flavours were not thai and we only went cause of all the great reviews. Services was great I love Thai food and have been to many Thai restaurants but this one was such a let down.

Great asian option
This is a great option if you fancy thai/laotian food. I can't seem to get past the prawn laksa which is tasty and filling though have nibbled on my fellow diners meals which have included various curries, stir fries, all have been great. For a cheap night out with guaranteed good food, you can't beat Thai Wi-Rat, it's definitely one of our dining gems.

I love the Rat
The service is hilariously bad, but the food is FABULOUS! And the prices are amazing. The food here is really a cut above any other Thai restaurant I've been to in Australia. I recommend the chilli basil duck, and the larb is to die for *drool*. Beware though, they have a habit of randomly making one or other of the meals hot as hell and you never know which one it's going to be! You really have to try this one.

Not a Thai fan but will return
Perhaps my discomfort with Thai is lack of familiarity with the dishes but we did manage to assemble an interesting dinner - in part by asking other tables - and did enjoy the meal. Service was being hammered and we found we had to go to the bar to order but all in all excellent value.

Great Thai Fare
The menu here is very different to your average Thai restaurant with many different options. The food is fantastic and very cheap. Not to mention, BYO. Definitely the best Asian restaurant food-wise I have been to in the Valley. The duck is wonderful, as were the peppered scallops and catfish. I will be back again soon!

Authentic Thai
Very reasonably priced Thai food located in the Chinatown mall. The food is authentic, very much what you'd find in a local eatery in downtown Bangkok. While it's not Royal Thai, it's certainly as close as you'll get to the real deal in Brisbane.
