Best Thai in Sydney
I have been to many Thai restaurants but Thai x9 is by far the best. The food there is always amazing, fresh and well presented (lunch time specials for only $6.50 are so good for students or those on a budget).
They make the best pad thai ever! The noodles are not too thick and not too thin, it's fried to the right texture and not too sweet.
They also have really friendly staff.
The restaurant itself is small and can get crowded, especially cos its popular, but that's what adds to the friendly and comfy atmosphere.
I really recommend this place. It also has an outside dining area.

Simple and great
Not the most fancy decoration inside, but the food is one of the best Thai in King Street, Newtown. They have the best pad Thai and satay chicken I have found in King Street, while their prices are really low.
