The closing of Dijon marked the end of an era, but Woronora residents were quickly distracted by its replacement, a restaurant that combines the stunning location with affordable food. Thai Peninsular has kept the schmick interior of its predecessor (complete with those stunning river views, of course) and merely added a few Thai touches to signal the changing of the guard. The menu features classic Thai cuisine, but promises none of the dumbed-down Thai that many its contemporaries resort to producing. Best of all, it's affordable enough to lure locals out of their own kitchens on a regular basis, with most mains hovering around the $15 mark.

Lovely Dinner
We have just had dinner at this restaurant - the occasion was my birthday. It certainly was a memorable meal. It was the best Thai food we've ever had and we would certainly recommend the restaurant to our friends. We will definitely be coming back again. We usually go out for dinner once a fortnight and I can see that this is one restaurant that we'd definitely come back to at least once every two months.

Although the food was very nice we found the service was disappointing. With only 4 couples in the restaurant I felt that this was not justified. There were 2 waitresses and whilst our waitress was very attentive and the entree and first course were serviced with great attention, we were left for 45 minutes after the main dishes were removed anticipating a follow-up visit for a dessert menu and perhaps coffee. At this point we decided to leave a bit disappointed our meal was not complete.
The 2 waitresses were sitting at the back of the restaurant making tomorrow's rice patties or something which I felt was not the place to do it. Because they were busy I felt they were not paying attention to the paying customers. This was our 2nd visit and both times we were disappointed. Shame because although we don't eat a lot of Thai food being local we found it very convenient and would go back. At this point I don't think we will return.
