Simply the definition of "cheap and cheerful" Thai in Newtown, Thai La-Ong keeps very busy with the local student population coming in droves. There's very good reason for that too, and it lies in the curries, stir-fries, noodles and other Thai favourites on the menu. If you don't want to squeeze into the front part of the restaurant, you can grab a table in the cute sheltered courtyard out the back.

Make your own atmosphere - come for the fantastic food
This bustling Thai eatery in Newtown is one of my staples. The food is fantastic, service is polite and efficient, and the prices are reasonable. After years of scoping out all the eateries in Newtown, this is one of the ones I keep coming back to, time and time again. It'll become your favourite too.
