Thai in Town, formerly known as Newtown Thai II, is one of King Street's constant sources of culinary enjoyment of Thai cuisine. It comes as no surprise that the local university population have a particular affection for this convivial cheap eat. At low prices you can nab a huge feed from Thai in Town's menu of traditional entrees, curries, stir-fries, noodles, salads, soups and rice dishes. The chef's specials include green salmon curry, tom yum soup with green prawns, and the Paradise dish, an optimistically named deep-fried tofu stir-fry with crab meat, prawn mince and chicken mince.
