Winning the hearts of locals and judging panels with its fine authentic Thai cuisine and hospitality, Thai Corner restaurant boasts more awards and nominations than you can shake a bamboo stick at. You can't help but admire the myriad plates which don the walls of the restaurant, complemented by a fine array of traditional Thai ornaments, silks and paintings. But it's the plates of exquisitely flavoursome and fragrant MSG-free food that really impress here. Chef Lex Somketra lovingly recreates the traditional dishes of her homeland with skill and finesse - from the classic green curry, chicken in pindan leaves and sticky rice, to her signature deep-fried whole fish and own-made ice cream. Every second Sunday, for a small fee of $25 per person, she imparts a little of the wisdom she's amassed in a cooking class. Owner Jerry Kunakool could also teach you a thing or two about wines. He's sourced some of the finest Australian labels for his list and is always refreshing the menu.

great food
We have been here quite a few times and have always been happy with the service and food. They do some great dishes which are authentic, the staff are always polite and helpful. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a casual family/friends meal

How to lose customers for an extra $6 surcharge...
Had a very nice meal at the Thai Corner tonight...Had not been back for a while due to inconsistencies with some take away meals quite a few months back. Service was great...Food was very good and prices not unreasonable (if perhaps at the top end for rather smallish serves of Thai food). We asked for the bill which was promptly brought to the table in a black wallett proclaiming that American Express Cards were most welcome...I'm not surprised they are most welcome...The waiter informed us that American Express Cards incurred an extra surcharge of 3% of the total bill. Our bill was just over 200 dollars so the restaurant received an extra $6 to cover thei Amex charges. I hope they invest the $6 wisely as it will never comensate them for the four customers who were so irked by this greedy little grab that they will unlikely become regular customers. Whatever happened to customer relations?

Better than Thailand
Having returned from a week in Phuket, where you struggle to find authentic Thai food amongst the pizza parlours, this restaurant was a delight. The food was fantastic, loved the entree platter as could not decide between those on offer. The meals were very generous in size, very reasonably priced for the quality of the food and service and the complimentary port at the end of the meal really sealed the deal. I'll be back again and again. Try it!
