Thai City

Like most Thai restaurants in its league, this eatery offers the usual suspects: stir-fries, soups, curries and noodle and rice dishes. The Thai chargrill, however, is an interesting variation, with the chicken in honey, garlic, pepper, lemongrass and red wine the standout choice. A vegetarian version of the tom yum soup includes vegetables and straw mushrooms, while salads and vegetable rolls cater to those looking for a lighter meal.

Nice Thai Food!
We've been to quite a few Thai restaurants in Sydney & Melbourne and Thai City was definitely one of the better ones. The food was quite good and relatively authentic.

The restaurant is a little stingy on the meat, but the quality is definitely there. We had a lobster salad as an entree (can't remember the exact name of the dish) and it was fantastic. The green curry was quite ok.

Atmosphere wise the restaurant is average-to-good. Not too noisy.

A little pricey for what it is, but we would probably go back again!! If you want better quality then Thai City shouldn't disappoint most people.

Good Thai Food
I am surprised at the below review. I thought the food was really good and I love Thai food so I tend to go to a few Thai restaurants. I do agree though, that there could have been a little bit more meat in the green curry. The green curry and pad Thai (with chicken instead of prawns) was very tasty. The staff were extremely friendly and very attentive without hovering. The food didn't take too long to come out and I am glad that they don't use any MSG in their food. It is a little pricey compared to some Thai restaurants with equally good food but the atmosphere was nice. I would definitely go back if I wanted a romantic place to take my boyfriend.

Disappointing Thai food
My wife and I had dinner here on a Sat night. Service was ok, nothng special, not un-friendly but not friendly either. The food however was very disappointing, we had Red duck curry and pork fried noodles.

The duck curry lacked flavor and was overwhelmed by coconut milk. Also there was virtually no duck meat! 6 small pieces, very disappointing. The pork in the noodles was not fully cooked and we had to send it back to the kichen.

Also the menu on display is for takeaway and not for sitdown service, so be careful thinking the meals are cheaper than what they appear. A very dishonest practice.

Ambience was ok, with nice Thai styles paintings on the walls, however things such as the ceiling lights don't match the rest of the decor.

Conclusion - very disappointing and we will never return for a meal there.
