There's major concern today that Australia borrows too much of its culture from America. That being said, sometimes you just have to give credit to a good idea.
The first TGI Friday's opened stateside back in 1965 and has since spread to countless locations across the US. The handful of Aussie incarnations that have been slowly creeping across Victoria share the same flavour and style, from the flashy bartenders (think Tom Cruise circa 1988 only less creepy) to the country-fried, tasty food. Expect to see burgers, ribs, buffalo wings and steaks all in mammoth portions. If you're really feeling brave, start your meal with the macaroni appetiser, which is basically just deep-fried cheese.
