Excellent affordable Japanese
Well-executed traditional Japanese fare, and there's always something a bit new and different on the specials menu. A highlight this time was an entree of lightly salted soybeans that accompanied a dry Asahi to perfection. The tempura is the best I've ever had, including the nice surprise of several generously sized prawns. The sashimi, prepared behind the bar in a very watchable performance, also is generously served and very good value. You can eat quite cheaply and very well from the rice dish or soup menu, or splash out on a banquet with plenty of sake or one of several Japanese beers to go with it. I go here often as a last-minute decision and am always graciously accommodated; the service from waitpeople in traditional dress is consistently understated, friendly and attentive.
