The Mercure Hotel Perth has celebrated the completion of another phase in its extensive renovations with the opening of the restaurant Ten. Dark jarrah wall panelling, teak floors, brass fittings, white wicker chairs and subdued pendant lighting give the space a distinctly European air. Forming the centrepiece is a 15ft freshwater fish tank. But arguably the most inspired feature is the diner's waiting area, where you can perch comfortably on stools around high tables, nibbling on garlic or pesto bread while you wait for your table.
