There has been a restaurant here for a while, but they've overhauled the decor and menu to create a very funky little space off the side of the pub. The owners have been smart to keep the menu focused on fashionable contemporary food with options priced low enough to attract students and younger crowds.
This is the place for gourmet pizzas, ocean trout with dill and caper mayo, and, if you're really splashing out, a big scotch fillet with chips and salad in a pepper or mushroom sauce. Take these suggestions with a grain of salt, as chef Tim Last's menu is an evolving entity.
The squat, art deco pub is right in the docklands of the CBD, about two minutes walk from the Town Hall. It's a good place to go with a group, and you can expect quietish lunchtimes, and noisy and boisterous (but very harmless) crowds enjoying themselves most nights of the week.
