Famed as Melbourne's smallest breakfast spot, Teaspoon - the little sister of Prahran's Spoonful - gathers a constant crowd who compete for the tiny cafe's four seats. The space also houses a gourmet deli, which is not much bigger than a kitchen cupboard itself, but still manages to pack in an exciting blend of exotic teas and condiments, such as elderflower jelly, and fig and sesame paste, international flavourings and organic refrigerated meats.
Popular with pram pushers, dog walkers, local workers and, indeed, most passers by, Teaspoon is an exceedingly busy little enterprise. It's frequently packed with customers clamouring for fine coffee, chai lattes or hot chocolates; or tucking into tall muffins, cookies, cheesy twists and chocolate chip brioche, or lunch rolls bursting with gourmet deli selections.
