Taking over the space once occupied by Will and Toby's and Ciel Rouge, husband and wife team Alex and Natasha have brought a slice of Paris to Sydney. French bistro dishes such as confit pork Parmentier, roasted apple with prune and Armagnac feature on the a la carte menu, while an all-day menu means you can try French-style bar snacks like the croque monsieur or hand-cut pommes frites (that's French for, er, French fries) from noon to midnight. The separate bar area is an attraction in itself, wooing drinkers with sexy light fittings and black leather couches, not to mention an impressive wine list.

Definitely a stayer
I'd have no problem at all recommending this bistro and wine bar to friends.
The staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing and made the night all the more enjoyable.
Left with a fuzzy feeling (not just from the great wine) and can't wait until my next visit.
Tastevin is a great addition to the Sydney scene.

Great addition to Victoria St
What a great little addition to the Victoria St restaurant scene. Beautiful french food, decadent deserts and lovely owners. If you're a lover of delicious French food...take the short walk up the stairs from street level...you won't regret it!

Great New French Bistro
A friend of mine told me that he went to Tastevin for dinner with his friends and he felt like he was in Paris. So I wanted to try it and it was fantastic, a very cute place upstairs with the bar in the back and the bistro in the front. We tried the gnocchi a la parisian and the confit pork - which were both just delightful, especially complimented with a french pinot noir for just $49. Very affordable prices in general. I will go back again.

Delightful!
I attended a private function at Le Tastevin in their first week of opening, and was really impressed. The restaurant/bar have been nicely refurbished in a very elegant, intimate style. The canapes served were excellent, and not your usual fare. The roquefort mousse with caramelised walnuts served on crisp witlof leaves was a standout, as were the chocolate dessert brownies. I also could not fault the service. Alex and Natasha seem to take a really hands on approach, and were very professional and accommodating hosts. I would recommend this new bar/restaurant to anyone!
