Sliding into the ever-trendy Surry Hills cafe scene in 2009, Taste of Europe Bakery Cafe offers a point of difference with its unique range of distinctly European sweet and savoury fare. In the sweet section, you'll find classic Central European tortes, like the citron flan and the chocolate fudge torte, as well as friands, eclairs, muffins, petit fours, gelati and biscotti. On the savoury front, the breakfast, lunch and snack options are definitely bountiful, featuring authentic burek pastries (Balkan pies in cheese, spinach or meat varieties), lamb souvlaki wraps, Mediterranean chickpea salads, and plenty of pizzas, pies, sandwiches, soups and burgers to make your day. Of course, at a place like this you'll always find some surprising coffee concoctions on hand too, like the mouth-watering honey affogato.
