If you want really good, authentic food you must always go to the source. And this friendly little diner has been producing traditional Egyptian food for years now. The giant chalkboard menu is handwritten in a barely legible scrawl, and, to me, that says no unnecessary effort was wasted on the non-essentials.
It's this no-nonsense approach that has led to the food here being so good. The slow-cooked mozah lamb shanks are a standout dish among many. The meat is soft and tender - and perfectly accompanied by a rich tomato, garlic and chilli tapenade.
