Taj Palace

After running this restaurant for more than 20 years, the Rawat family likes to call Taj Palace home. Sure, the humble decor is rather less then palace-like, but you'll soon find that the magic lies in the simple Indian cuisine. The restaurant has proved very popular with the locals as a reliable source of quality takeaway food, offering favourites such as the rogan gosht (spiced lamb with spinach) or the curried leg of lamb (which has to be ordered in advance). Dine in or takeaway, the Taj Palace provides great value for money.

I want to rent an apartment upstairs so I have less of a commute
I live 5 minutes away and its not close enough. This place rocks! Eat in or take away, this stuff is the shit!( that means really good btw) The vindaloo is incredible, best I've ever tried and I have tried several. Thi place is as good as Bedi's (South Melbourne) if not better. Butter chicken, yummo! And cheap, my god, this place is way too cheap if you ask me. I hope the owner doesnt read this or I have just shot myself in the foot. $12 roughly buys you anything off the menu and its good. If you want great tasting Indian done by people with real talent eat here!

The best!
Taj Palace has been our source of great Indian food for some time now. We have constantrly been amazed to find that we simply can't find another indian restaurant that comes close to Taj. We are equaly amazed to find that everytime we eat at Taj the food is just as delicious as the previous time! I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough. the flavours and textures are always perfect! great staff and a friendly chef who you have full view of whilst he prepares your meal. do yourself a favour...

The best
Having dined at this restaurant for many years, we again spent a pleasurable couple of hours sharing some of the best Indian food in the city. Their Onion Bahji is to die for and their Palak Paneer is enought to bring us back time after time.

I've not had a disappointing meal at this restaurant I don't ever expect to. Just perfect

It's ok I guess.
Just a pity that the food didn't live up to the fantastic atmosphere & friendly service (it pains me to write this - I'm so sorry). I've honestly had better Indian at the food court in Melbourne Central.
