With its lunch specials and genuine (and genuinely spicy) Thai dishes, this award-winner has fast become a Parramatta favourite. The food is authentic, tasty and speedy, while the restaurant's atmosphere is intimate and warm. The spiciness of some of the dishes means this is not so much a family restaurant as a grown-ups paradise, and the lack of children means the vibe is relaxed and quiet. A popular spot for groups who rave about the banquets, this one is not to be missed.

Awful
Our aim was for Temasek next door, but it was closed so we went to Spice - as did many others trying for Temasek. We had chicken satay which was nothing like chicken satay - yellow chicken on skewers with dreadful peanut sauce - more like peanut butter with a bit of chilli. My husband had the fried pork - that was it, just fried pork! I could have done better myself at home. I had Massman curry which was nothing like the Massman curry which I have had in Thailand. The colour was wrong - in fact it was almost the same as the satay sauce! The meat was over cooked & powdery. I am amazed that we were in the same restaurant as the comments above. Will not be going back.

They make it up fresh for you
Wow the renovations have made this place look awesome, but to be honest we would go there no matter how it looked! Those scallops with the passionfruit are amazing and we can't ever go past the rice net spring rolls, AND it has the best curry puffs I have ever tasted. I have tried a few of their mains and my favourite is the red duck curry - the staff are so cute and don't even ask for my order anymore! With friendly smiling service and the best thai food we would never go anywhere else! Probably it is a little more pricey than average thai, but you're not eating average thai - they make it up fresh for you and you can really taste the difference between them and other bigger restaurants that have to make up things in big batches. I have friends who travel (willingly) from Mt Pritchard to have Spice Gourmet Thai. It is small and unique and a great experience.

Best thai in Parramatta
Having tried nearly every restaurant in Parramatta, and with now at least 5 Thai restaurants in Parramatta, I have been to spice many times and still find it the best Thai by far. Its also the smallest and most interesting.

MY friends liked it more than me
My friends enjoyed this place more than me but I found the food average, had chicken satay and a pork dish, and it was nothing special. With thai restaurants everywhere, you can do better in my opinion, and it was a little pricey too.
